MY DRAFT™

A self-determination framework for students and young adults

MY DRAFT™ is a student-centered framework that helps individuals reflect on their strengths, needs, goals, and future plans — and take an active role in the decisions that shape their lives. Each MY DRAFT™ tool supports a specific kind of planning.

About the MY DRAFT™ Framework

MY DRAFT™ is a structured reflection toolkit built for the conversations that shape a person’s future: IEP meetings, transition planning, employment planning, and personal goal-setting. It gives students and young adults time to think through their strengths, needs, and goals before the meeting, not during it. The approach is grounded in self-determination and supported decision-making. People advocate best when they’ve had a real chance to prepare. Each tool in the MY DRAFT™ line applies this same approach to a different conversation. MY DRAFT™ IEP is available now. Additional tools are in development.

MY DRAFT™ IEP

Available now.

Helps middle and high school students prepare for their IEP meeting — reflecting on their strengths, needs, goals, and future plans, and arriving ready to contribute to the conversation.

MY DRAFT™ SDMA

In development.

Will support individuals creating a Supported Decision-Making Agreement — identifying who they trust to help them make decisions, and in which areas of their lives.

MY DRAFT™ Transition Plan

In development.

Will help students and young adults plan for life after high school — employment, further education, independent living, and participation in their community.
